Antavo Launched Its Apple-powered In-Store Solution at NRF 2020
January 17, 2020
Antavo’s Loyalty Experience Kiosk has made its grand debut to the public, at a VIP exhibition at NRF 2020. This futuristic in-store solution was officially unveiled to the public at Current Global’s Innovation Mansion – an intimate gathering of high-level retail innovators and industry leaders. The event was covered by WWD as well, who highlighted that Antavo’s Kiosk solves a long-standing problem for stores, chiefly that retailers want to know their customers better.
Antavo used the evolution of Apple’s technology to provide a seamless experience for customers. With it, customers can start interacting with the Kiosk simply by holding their phones near the screen, or even through facial recognition.
Several global brands and retailers are planning to roll out the Loyalty Experience Kiosk in H1 2020, so customers will be able to use the device in selected stores, including locations in New York and Hong Kong.
Responding to the Challenges of Brick-And-Mortar
Providing an outstanding experience is the biggest challenge brick-and-mortars face today. As a direct result, store interiors are being transformed into showrooms, featuring the latest tech to make the interaction frictionless.
Since customers already expect a great experience, those who don’t receive help or guidance often end up leaving. To counter this, retailers need a solution that delivers personalized recommendations.
The Loyalty Experience Kiosk delivers in-store engagement that enhances your brand’s omnichannel capabilities. With it, customers can access exclusive offers, spin a Prize Wheel, fill out brand-themed quizzes, or record short videos, which they can save to their phones and upload to social media.
Here’s what you need to know about the Kiosk’s features:
- One-touch sign-in for iPhone and NFC-compatible Android phones
- Frictionless login via Facial Recognition
- 22-inch multi-touch screen
- NFC reader and motion-sensors
- Compatible with Android and Apple phones
- Real-time sync with store inventory, CRM and Loyalty program
- Stylish wooden or metallic frame, available in multiple colors
The Kiosk caters to a wide range of business goals with features like gamification, personalization, and the ability to bridge the gap between offline and online customer activity. Check out this video for a demonstration!
Seamless Connection, Powered by Apple
In an effort to support experiential retail, Apple’s new NFC advancement now allows seamless interactions in an unprecedented way, with no app downloads or typing required. By holding their phones near the screen or setting up facial recognition profiles, shoppers get a more seamless and efficient shopping experience and retailers get valuable data on their customers’ shopping behavior and interests.
We wanted to give customers an experience that’s both unique and convenient: our solution is compatible with a large variety of mobile phones, and customers can also choose to sign in using facial recognition for even greater convenience.
CEO at Antavo
The Antavo-built and Apple-powered experience is meant to redefine in-store engagement with features such as the Virtual Stylist or Treasure Hunt. Meanwhile facial recognition, motion sensing, and NFC technology ensure the user experience is smooth and seamless.
Curated Product Recommendations & Store Discovery
The Loyalty Experience Kiosk also provides customers with personalized recommendations based on the store’s current inventory. By using the Virtual Stylist module, shoppers can browse available products, select the items they love, and have a curated collection brought to them by a shop assistant.
Another noteworthy feature is the Treasure Hunt, which is dedicated to promoting store exploration and product discovery. In brief, customers are instructed to find specific items on the shelves, based on an enigmatic description, such as: “Find the limited-edition Air Jordan sneakers released to honor the 1991 NBA finals”.
Once the designated item has been found, participants need to scan the barcode with their phone, after which they can return to the Kiosk and claim the reward.
An Outstanding Premiere During NRF 2020
The Loyalty Experience Kiosk was officially launched on January 11 as part of NRF Retail Week in New York. The event took place at an invitation-only gathering at the Innovation Mansion, organized by The Current Global, an innovation consultancy, which focused on exploring where technology and consumers intersect in the future of retail.
The Kiosk was part of the “Hot 12” tech showcase, where senior marketing executives and brand representatives had the opportunity to interact with and experience the device firsthand.
The Loyalty Experience Kiosk Is Available to Order
The Loyalty Experience Kiosk will arrive in the global retail locations in H1 2020, so customers will be able to engage with the technology soon, in New York, Hong Kong and other cities.

Frequently asked questions about Antavo
What can brands build with Antavo?
Brands use Antavo to run the whole loyalty and incentives program on one platform: points, tiers, challenges, streaks, referrals, clubs, and rewards beyond discounts; promotions and incentives for members and non-members alike, from bonus points and promo codes to bundles and cart-level offers; and agentic AI built in. Everything runs online, in store, on mobile, and in wallet, and marketers launch it themselves.
Who uses Antavo?
Antavo works with mid-market and upper-mid-market brands across fashion, retail, beauty, travel, hospitality, restaurants, and sports in North America and Europe: multi-market, omnichannel brands with a strong identity and customers worth keeping, including Paul Smith, KFC, SKIMS, Rip Curl, Benefit Cosmetics, and Hyatt's Inclusive Collection.
How long has Antavo been around?
Antavo was founded in 2012 and has been building loyalty programs for more than a decade, with teams across Europe and North America serving brands worldwide.
Why do brands switch to Antavo?
Most loyalty programs get stuck: reduced to a discount engine, generic to customers, or too rigid to evolve. Antavo removes those compromises. Brands get a program that feels unmistakably their own, loyalty and incentives on one platform, and the depth to handle tiers, expirations, refunds, and many markets at scale. Their own marketers run it: a tier change in an afternoon, live when they press the button.
How does Antavo use AI?
Antavo's agentic AI is built in, not bolted on. Two named agents do the work: the AI Loyalty Expert, which turns your ideas into a build-ready program, and the AI Analyst, which turns your data into clear answers and reports. Both work inside Antavo or connect to Claude and ChatGPT, and every answer is grounded in your own program and data.
What does Antavo integrate with?
Antavo is API-first with real-time webhooks and deep pre-built integrations, from Shopify, Klaviyo, Braze, and Bloomreach to the CRMs, CDPs, ESPs, and POS systems you already use. Antavo plugs into the stack you already run rather than replacing it.
