Antavo and Edmonton International Airport Unveil YEGplus Loyalty Program for Travellers

Edmonton International Airport (Canada) partnered with Antavo AI Loyalty Cloud to launch YEGplus, a new loyalty program designed to enhance the passenger experience across the airport ecosystem, rewarding travellers for shopping, dining, parking, and more. 

Edmonton International Airport (YEG) is a major Canadian travel hub serving more than 8 million passengers annually. Located in Alberta, YEG connects travellers across North America and beyond, while offering a diverse mix of retail and dining experiences within its modern terminal. 

The new loyalty program, YEGplus, is designed to reward travellers for both spend and engagement, driving KPIs with smart loyalty logic. It’s powered by Antavo’s flexible and innovative loyalty capabilities: Tiers, Workflows, Challenges, Friend Referrals, and more coming together in perfect harmony. 

Smart earning mechanics driving engagement and spend 

YEGplus combines transactional and non-transactional earnings to capture value across the entire traveller journey. Members earn points through receipt scanning via Veryfi from partner merchants (Chili’s, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, etc) and through online parking reservations powered by Chauntry, ensuring that both retail and parking spend are rewarded. 

On top of this, non-transactional activities like quizzes, surveys, video views, QR scans, referrals and multi-step “scavenger hunt” challenges keep users actively engaged even when they’re not spending.

Bonus point challenges give members a tangible reason to spend, turning an everyday coffee or shopping run into a rewarding milestone that keeps travellers engaged between flights.

Tiered progression designed to influence behavior 

The three-tier structure (Essential, Silver and Gold) creates a clear path for progression, motivating travellers to increase their annual spend to unlock better perks. Tier bonuses, parking upgrades, and one-time rewards reinforce this journey, while the inability to drop below the highest achieved tier (for the upcoming year) strengthens long-term commitment. 

This structure is specifically designed to boost purchase frequency, increase average order value and reduce churn by giving members a reason to come back and level up.
