Tiers

Introduction

Let your members climb the loyalty program ladder with the help of our Tiers module. Having this module set up customers can receive a status within the loyalty program, which makes them feel acknowledged and connected to your brand. This strategy provides a goal for members to shoot for – an incentive to shop their way to higher tiers. Shoppers love to be called Gold or VIP members.
A member’s current tier appears underneath their name in the Loyalty Hub, right below their point balance.

Setting up the tier system

You can find the configuration page of the Tiers module by clicking on the ‘Modules’ icon in the sidebar, and scrolling down to the ‘Core’ module category. There you’ll see the list of tier that were already set up.

Before creating tiers, you need to decide how you want to sort customer into tiers and if you’d like to downgrade customers or not.

  • Navigate to the ‘Settings’ tab of the module configuration page
  • Choose one of the two options:
    • Score
      Customer tier will be calculated based on the number of points the customer earns in the loyalty program
    • Spent
      Customer tier will be calculated based on the amount of money the customer spends in your store
  • Tick the ‘Downgrade’ checkbox to turn on the downgrade feature
  • Click the ‘Save’ button

Adding a new tier

  • Click on the ‘Create’ button on the right-hand side of the module configuration page
  • Add the name of the tier
  • Add the point value that customers must earn in order to reach the tier
  • Upload a tier image
  • Click the ‘Create’ button

Editing tiers

  • Navigate to the module configuration page
  • Click on the the ‘Edit’ button next to the tier you’d like to edit
  • Change the settings of the tier
  • Click the ‘Update’ button

Deleting tiers

  • Navigate to the module configuration page
  • Click on the the ‘Edit’ button next to the tier you’d like to delete
  • Click on the ‘Delete’ button on the right-hand side of the page
  • Confirm your choice in the dialog that appears

Best practices

  • Let members “unlock” valuable rewards as they reach new tiers. Just create a segment for each tier in the Segment editor, then attach the tier segments to the relevant rewards on the settings page of the each individual reward.
  • Set up at least 3-4 tiers, so that members can continue to achieve higher tiers over a longer period of time.
  • Choose tier names that reflect your business’s personality and speak your customer’s’ language.
    • Examples for a jewelry loyalty program: Shimmer / Shine / Sparkle / Prestige
    • Examples for a nutrition supplement loyalty program: Rookie / Hardcore / Shredded
  • Design a graphic that illustrates your tiers, allowing customers to easily understand the difference between each tier and helps them compare the benefits.
  • Send a level-up email to customers who’ve just reached the next tier using our Webhooks module. Be sure to describe the new perks they’ve unlocked, and share how they can earn more points.

Implementing the module

In order to support this module, you need to use the Antavo Loyalty Plugin in your Magento / Magento 2 / Woocommerce store or implement a few changes in your Custom CMS.
